Now it is time to get Gold at World Nogi

Renato Tavares went to California September 24th and competed at American National Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2011 Gi and Nogi.
In the first day Renato Tavares won 2 matches in his division. First match he won by point 12-0.

On his second match he pushed the pace and finished the fight with a arm lock in 3:32 against Samuel Joseph, Yamasaki .
With 2 hours break Tavares decided compete in the Absolute division. His first mach was against a 6’5″ tall fighter.  He had a difficult  time in the beginning of the fight but soon he became a little bit comfortable with the opponent’s height and Renato was able to control the fight. He won by point 10-2 defeating Mario Devault of Gracie Barra in the finals.

The final Match on Saturday of the American National Jiu-Jitsu Championship, Renato had a hard match, but won by 2 points.

On Sunday Renato Tavares came ready to compete. He only had one match but his opponent fought hard and the fight finished 12 -4.

What a great weekend for Renato Tavares bringing home Triple Gold Medals.

He now plans to compete in Miami Open at the end of October and World Nogi November 5th.
Renato Tavares’ goal is bring another 2 medals from Miami Open and at least one more from Worlds.
